Template notice. This document is a professional template maintained by Juncify. It should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel — including for GDPR, UK GDPR, CPRA, and other applicable data-protection laws — before publication.
1. Who we are
Juncify ("Juncify", "we", "us", "our") operates a reputation platform for the Nepali diaspora and related communities. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you use juncify.com and related services (the "Service").
2. Information we collect
- Account details. Full name, username, email address, password (hashed), and optional phone number.
- Profile information. Bio, avatar, country, state/province, address, trade skills, and showcase content you choose to publish.
- Verification documents. Identity and professional verification files that you voluntarily submit. These are stored in access-controlled buckets and reviewed only by authorised Juncify staff.
- Content you create. Community posts, comments, reviews, junctions, applications, messages, and reports.
- Usage & device data. IP address, browser and device type, operating system, timestamps, referring URLs, and in-product interactions used to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies & similar technologies. Session cookies for authentication, minimal preference storage, and anonymised analytics.
3. How we use your information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
- Create and secure your account and authenticate sign-ins;
- Compute and display your Trust Rating and public profile;
- Match members with relevant junctions and professionals;
- Send transactional emails (verification, password reset, notifications);
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions.
4. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where applicable, we process personal data on the basis of (a) performance of a contract with you, (b) our legitimate interests in operating a trustworthy platform, (c) your consent (which you can withdraw at any time), and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
5. What is public by design
Juncify is a public reputation platform. Your profile, posts, reviews, ratings, junctions, and verification badges are visible to other users and to search engines by default. Do not post information you do not want to be public.
6. Sharing & disclosure
We share information with:
- Service providers that host, store, secure, or deliver the Service on our behalf (for example, cloud hosting, database, storage, email delivery, error monitoring). These providers are bound by contract to protect your data and use it only on our instructions.
- Other users, according to the visibility of what you post.
- Authorities, when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Juncify or others.
- Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for transfers.
8. Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your data on a defined schedule, except where retention is required by law.
9. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures — including encrypted transport (TLS), encryption at rest for sensitive assets, role-based access, audit logs, and row-level security in our database. No system is 100% secure; if you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately.
10. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. You can exercise many of these rights directly from Settings, or by contacting privacy@juncify.com.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Cookies
We use strictly-necessary cookies for authentication and security, and limited preference storage (for example, your last filter selections) in localStorage. You can control cookies in your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using parts of the Service.
13. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in-product or by email. The "Effective" date at the top always reflects the most recent version.
14. Contact
Questions or requests regarding this Policy can be sent to privacy@juncify.com.
